Attia Shiraz

Attia Shiraz

Attia Shiraz is an independent curator whose practice sits at the intersection of visual arts, music, and the cultural histories of South Asia and its diaspora. Her research draws on archival and object-based inquiry, most recently through the Lahore Museum collections and Radio Pakistan archives. She curated Awaken: Sufi Music & Women of South Asia (2024) at the Royal College of Music Museum, which presented new interpretations of Mughal miniature painting and connected them with music, poetry, ritual practice, and the histories of the African Siddi community — accompanied by a concert programme inspired by seventeenth-century sound worlds. Attia studied psychology at Goldsmiths, University of London, and has delivered guest lectures at the Aga Khan Centre and SOAS on art history, music, and cultural memory across the North Indian subcontinent. She leads Arts & Cultures at Westminster City Libraries & Archives, serves as a Trustee at The Showroom Gallery, London, and sits on the Community & Culture Grants panel at Westminster City Council.
