Paria Farzaneh
Paria Farzaneh is a British-Iranian artist and menswear designer whose practice bridges fashion, cultural storytelling, and social commentary. Born in England to Iranian parents who emigrated before her birth, she grew up in Yorkshire and comes from a family with a deep history of textile craft — her grandfather was a master tailor in Iran. She studied Fashion Menswear Design at Ravensbourne University, London (graduating 2016), and launched her eponymous label in 2017. Her work merges traditional Iranian iconography, hand-blocked textiles from Isfahan, calligraphy, and natural dyes with utilitarian and contemporary silhouettes, creating a dialogue between Eastern and Western cultures. Farzaneh was selected as the British Fashion Council's NEWGEN One To Watch in 2018 and was a semi-finalist of the LVMH Prize in 2019. Her garments have been worn by Frank Ocean, and she has collaborated with Converse, Gore-Tex, and LeBron James. Through her practice, she seeks to challenge Western stereotypes of Iran and restore a sense of beauty and complexity to its representation.
