Shokhrukh Rakhimov

Shokhrukh Rakhimov

Shokhrukh Rakhimov is a ceramic artist whose practice bridges ancestral craft and contemporary expression. Born into a family of renowned Uzbek ceramists, he is the son of sixth-generation master Alisher Rakhimov. Shokhrukh graduated from the P.P. Benkov Republican Art College in 2020 with a thesis exploring the ecological and industrial crises of the Aral Sea and is currently completing his studies at the Kamaliddin Bekzod National Institute of Arts.

Since 2021, he has mentored children with developmental disabilities through a ceramics programme at the Republican Centre for Social Adap- tation in Tashkent. His work has received national and international recognition, including the Grand Prix at the 2022 “NAVQIRON O’ZBEKISTON” festival and a 2023 Homo Faber Fellowship from the Michelangelo Foundation. Under this fellowship, he trained in Athens with master Yiannis Zois, culminating in a collaborative totem exhibited during London Craft Week 2024 at Cromwell Place.
