Mapping the City invites young participants to explore the architectural history and urban landscape of Tashkent through creative practice. The programme looks at the city through its buildings, public spaces, patterns, mosaics and materials, encouraging participants to observe their surroundings from new perspectives. Across the sessions, participants will experiment with drawing, photography, collage, sound recording and other forms of visual and digital media. The first session focuses on drawing the city.

CCA Tashkent’s film series dedicated to Uzbek cinema of the modernist era continues with Shukhrat Abbasov’s The Whole Mahalla Is Talking About It. The screening will be followed by a talk with Nigora Karimova, offering further context on the film and its place within the history of Uzbek cinema.

Artist Nigina Mirzajanova leads a creative collage workshop for children, exploring emotions through colour, shape and composition. Using coloured paper and different visual elements, participants will create their own collages while experimenting with ways of expressing feelings and ideas through image
