The Centre for Contemporary Arts Tashkent (CCA Tashkent) has officially opened its doors

Housed in a former diesel power station dating back to 1912, the historic building has been reimagined by architectural studio Studio KO as a new home for contemporary art — bringing together exhibitions, architecture, education and exchange.

Guests were among the first to experience the transformed building and discover Hikmah, CCA Tashkent’s inaugural exhibition. The opening also featured a conversation and tour led by CCA Tashkent Chief Curator Dr Sara Raza and Studio KO co-founder Olivier Marty, offering insights into the ideas behind Hikmah and the architectural vision that shaped the transformation of the building.

The opening of CCA Tashkent marks the arrival of a new space for contemporary art in Tashkent — one dedicated to artistic exchange, new perspectives and international dialogue.
