Kinusaiga is a traditional Japanese art form that involves creating images and decorative compositions using pieces of fabric, carefully arranged to form patterns, textures and intricate details. Often associated with the reuse of kimono fabrics, the technique offers a way to explore the beauty of textiles through colour, composition and texture, without the need for stitching.

During the workshop, participants will discover the principles of kinusaiga and experiment with combining different fabrics to create their own textile artwork. The session offers an opportunity to explore material-based artistic expression, develop attention to detail and discover how ordinary fabric pieces can be transformed into distinctive compositions.

No prior experience is required. The workshop is open to adults interested in exploring textile art and experimenting with a new creative technique.
