CCA Tashkent will host a public conversation with architect and educator Marina Tabassum, founder of Marina Tabassum Architects (MTA), a Dhaka-based international practice known for its climate-responsive and locally grounded approach to architecture. Tabassum is a two-time recipient of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture and was included in TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in 2024.

The conversation will explore Tabassum’s architectural journey through the question of how do you stay local becoming global. From working within the specific climate, geography, culture and history of Bangladesh to engaging with an international architectural discourse, Tabassum will reflect on how a practice can remain rooted in its context while reaching a global audience.
